January 2013 Players of the Month

 

The KIJHL and Hi Heat Insulating are pleased to announce that the Okanagan Conference Player of the Month is Jordan Salahor, forward of the Kelowna Chiefs while Dallas Calvin of the Beaver Valley Nitehawks earns the honor for the Kootenay Conference. Calvin played at a torrid pace notching 3.1 points per game while Salahor notched 2.1 points per game. Both players lead their conference in the overall scoring race.

Dallas continued his amazing torrid offensive play which has propelled him near the top of the KIJHL scoring lead.  Dallas has been a leader on and off of the ice, and the Hawks hope he continues to play at the same level for the playoff stretch drive.

Castlegar Rebels nominate goaltending duo Jordan Gluck and Connor Beauchamp.  Both our goaltenders have been outstanding as of late giving us opportunities to win every night.  Both goaltenders were very instrumental in the Rebels having a very successful January

Matti was a key consistent player for the Thunder Cats last month.

McKissock had 5 goals and 6 assists for the Ghostriders including an assist on the over time goal vs Spokane, scored 2 goals in the 3rd peroid to spark a come from behind over time victory vs Golden, and scoring 2 power play goals in the third period vs Creston in a 4-2 Ghostrider win

8 games played, 6 goals, 3 assists, 47 PIM

Carter had a great month at both ends of the ice. He led the Rockets in scoring with 9 pts in 8 games. This is pretty impressive for a 16 year old rookie defenseman.

The Nelson Leafs nominate second year Leafs' forward Linden Horswill. who continues to be a valuable leader, playing in all situations and positions. With six games remaining, Horswill has already exceeded his points production of last year by 17 points. He is exemplar of the KIJHL Player of the Month Award.
